Scholarships available for Hawaii student journalists

aaja-hawaiii-logoAsian American Journalists Association 2009 Hawaii Chapter Scholarships deadline June 30

AAJA-Hawaii will be offering scholarships for student journalists who are from Hawaii or interning at a Hawaii newspaper, magazine or news station.

Eligibility
Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full time with at least 12 credit units each semester. Applicants must be currently taking or planning to take journalism courses and/or are pursuing journalism as a career.

AAJA membership is encouraged for all applicants and required for the selected scholarship recipients. For membership, please apply online at: www.aaja.org.

Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated journalistic ability, and commitment to the field of journalism and sensitivity to Asian American and Pacific Islander issues, as demonstrated by community involvement.
