The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation announces that the boat ramp at Laupāhoehoe Point Beach Park will be closed to the public until further notice.

Extreme hazards exist on ramp surface due to tidal forces/surges and deteriorated concrete that are not readily apparent. Sharp, exposed reinforcing steel poses a severe danger to all and slippery, uneven surfaces have rendered the boat ramp unusable for all purposes.

The staff of the Department of Parks and Recreation thanks all patrons for their understanding and patience during this required closure.

Signs will be posted at the boat ramp to notify the public of the closure.
