Police still looking for missing Hilo woman Marlo Moku

The Hawai’i Police Department is renewing requests for help locating a 34-year old Hilo woman missing since September 23, 2008.

Marlo Moku was last seen at a convenience store in the lower Kaumana Drive area of Hilo. She is described as part Hawaiian, approximately 5-foot-7, about 180 pounds with brown eyes and shoulder-length dark brown curly hair. She was last seen wearing shorts and a pink tank top.

Moku has a mole on her upper left cheek and another one on her lower right cheek. She has the word “Sassy” tattooed on the inside of one of her ankles in pink lettering and has two vertical scars on one of her outer arms.

She suffers from a medical condition that requires medication.

She was last seen operating a blue 1995 Chevrolet Corsica four-door sedan bearing license plate HTN-328. The car was recovered 17 days later at the bottom of a cliff in Hakalau.

In January 2009, there was a possible sighting of Moku at a convenience store in Hawaiian Beaches. The woman matching her description left the store in a green Saturn.

Police ask that anyone with information on her whereabouts call Lieutenant Mitchell Kanehailua of the Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2252.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call crime stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
