Blake Amaral

Dallas, TX (5/26/09) – Freshman Blake Amaral was selected to the NCBWA All-West Region Team, announced today by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Blake Amaral (Hilo, HI), in earning Second-Team honors, was the only freshman selected to either the first or second team. Amaral started 48 games for the Sea Warriors, batting .386 with 33 runs scored, 11 doubles, four triples, and five home runs. He was also third in the PacWest with 46 RBI. Amaral broke the HPU single game RBI record this season, knocking home 10 runs in a win versus UH-Hilo (4/25).

 The NCBWA is an organization open to baseball writers, broadcasters, and publicists, and sponsors preseason All-American awards, and publication and writing contests.

 The Sea Warriors finished the 2009 season at 30-19 and second in the PacWest.
