UH-Hilo’s Keoni Manago earns first-team all-region honor

University of Hawaii at Hilo sophomore outfielder Keoni Manago is a first-team 2009 NCAA ABCA/Rawlings West Region selection as voted upon by the West Region Coaches.

Manago, who also was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Year and an All-PacWest First Team selection, ranked second in the league in hitting with a .435 average. He is fifth in slugging percentage (.619), second in on-base average (.500), and third in total base hits (64).He leads the league in doubles with 15 and is tied for third in stolen bases with a dozen, going 12 for 12 this season.

Each member of the first team will be eligible for NCAA DIVISION II All-American consideration, which will be selected in Cary, N.C. in conjunction with the Division II National Championship Tournament.
