Hawaii AgriTourism Association meetings set

Aloha HATA member and potential member,

Please join us for our next Hawaii AgriTourism Association Meeting on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 10am. The meeting lasts about 90 minutes. Please see the polycom locations below. To ensure the site you intend to go to will be set up, its very important that you RSVP now. If we have no rsvp’s for a particular location we may not assign staff to operate it. All sites will be ready at 930am, though the meeting will not begin till 10am. A special parking pass for any members going to the UH/Manoa campus site will be needed in advance. Please respond as soon as possible.

Hilo: Komohana Research and Extension Center located at 875 Komohana Street

Our Polycom meetings will be held once a quarter. Committees (Fundraising/Marketing/Membership/Festivals & Events) will need to work together in between these meetings to move initiatives forward.

Agenda for 6/3 HATA Polycom Meeting

1. Welcome & Introduction of all participating from every location

2. Funding/Finance – Update report from Secretary/Treasurer Nancy Miller on funds from memberships and any other sources. Update from Lani on Finance committee development and updated 2009 Hata Budget

3, Marketing/Communication – Any news from members must be received between the 15th & 1st of the next month. Please send “news” toinfo@hiagtourism.org for newsletter that comes out 5days after our polycom each quarter. Update on marketing efforts with HTA/Maui County.

4. Festivals & Events – Updates from the following members regarding events on their island that Hata could be represented. 
The following members volunteer to represent their islands at upcoming events and keep HATA updated on events in their area. 
• Neil Sams for Kauai 
• Pam Boyar for Oahu 
• Lori Farrell for Big Island 
• Lani Weigert for Maui

5. Education – Lani to update progress on setting up training for members and potential members on each

6. Membership – Seeking a Membership Lead. Update report on progress on recruiting more members from:

7. Government Affairs – Update on progress with AgTourism ordinance. On the Big Island, we heard back from Planning Department on the Ag-Tourism ordinance. They are working on developing a brochure and application form for the public. They would like to complete that task before meeting with HATA.
