MEDIA RELEASE

West Hawaii Dance Academy is offering a special “Mixed Plate” dance performance 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25 during the Kona Coast Shopping Center Book Fair.

Academy students, coached by  WHDT artistic director Virginia Holte and academy instructor Midori Satoh, will perform selections from the classic ballet “Sleeping Beauty,” including the famous “Garland Dance.”  A tap dance duet will be performed by Kim and Keli Jackson, hula by Keahi and Jeanne Kapela, and hip hop by Lee Vinson’s students. Emcee and guest vocalist Gregg Knapp will keep the performance “rock and rolling.”

The performance is free; proceeds benefit Friends of The Library.
