FOLK hosts quilting program April 18

In celebration of National Library Week April 12-18, the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (FOLK) hosts a Hawaiian quilt program 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18 at Kailua-Kona Public Library.

Bonnie Miki will present a program on this Hawaiian art that traditionally has been a unique form of design and expression, from its construction to its inspiration from the beauty of nature.

Miki will focus on the history and designing of the quilts. Several quilts of different sizes and patterns will be on display.

The session will finish with all ages having the opportunity to make their own design.

The program is free to the public.

FOLK is a non-profit organization that seeks to aid and support the three Kona libraries.
