Kona Outdoor Circle is accepting registration for its spring series tropical gardening classes.
Monday, April 20 through Saturday, May 16
Monday evening classes 6:30-9 p.m. Â / Saturday morning field trips starting at 9 a.m.
Monday, April 20: “Sustainable Food Production†with Nancy Redfeather, Gerry Herbert, et al
Saturday Field Trip, April 25: “Palms & Bamboos†with Garrett Webb, Leaping Bull Dog Farm
Monday, April 27:  ‘Get Acquainted’ Pot Luck at 5 p.m. – before class.
“Feeding Your Plants:  Fertilizing†with Bonnie Perata, Kona’s Earthly Delights Farm
Saturday Field Trip, May 2: “Waste Into Soil: “Composting in Binsâ€, Recycle HI; “Worm Composting†& “Building a Worm Bin†with Duff & Baumgardner   Â
Monday, May 4: “Controlling Weeds†with Diana Duff, KOC Education DirectorÂ
Saturday Field Trip, May 9:  “Seedless Reproduction:  Asexual Propagation†at Amy Greenwell Garden, followed by Amy Greenwell Tour
Monday, May 11: “Plant Diseases†with Viginia Easton-Smith, UH CTAHR Cooperative Extension Service Agent
Saturday Field Trip, May 16:  “Diagnosing Plant Problems†with Norm Bezonat at KOC Sadie Seymour Garden, followed by brown bag lunch picnic on premises
Series cost is $125 members (annual membership $35); individual classes $30 members / $40 non-members.
