The University of Hawai‘i at Hilo hosts Dixie State College in a Pacific West Conference baseball series at Wong Stadium in Hilo, Hawai‘i, Monday, April 13 through Wednesday, April 15.
Doubleheaders are scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday while a 1 p.m. game is on tap for Wednesday.
This will also be the final home stand for eight Vulcans – T.J. Brown, Matt Haasenritter, Gary Jones, Jesse Moon, Peter Rodgers, Brian Shannon, Christian Stephenson and Clayton Uyechi.
Dixie State (20-12 overall, 8-4 PWC) won the PWC series played in St. George, Utah, three games to one. The Red Storm opened the series with scores of 28-9, 14-4 and 9-8. The Vulcans (15-15, 6-10) won the final game 12-11.
Tuesday is Ben Franklin/Ace Hardware’s Red-out doubleheader where the first 200 adults and 200 children wearing red will receive a free gift. Children will receive a Vulcan red golf towel while adults will receive a hand sanitizer.
There will also be an events tent sponsored by the companies where people can participate in a pitching challenge and a bean bag contest as well as making personalized fans.
