Spring is in the air, and Queens’ MarketPlace invites families to a fun-filled Easter celebration for all ages, the Great Waikoloa Easter Egg Hunt, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 11.

Peter Cottontail makes a special appearance along with Waikoloa Beach Resort’s famous host, Koloa Duck, for free pictures with the keiki. But first, they will hide 10,000 filled eggs in different areas for different age groups, to give every child a “quack” at finding the golden egg and winning a special Easter basket packed with surprises. 

Admission is free with donation of $1 or a non-perishable food item for Hawaii Food Basket, and all donations go to Big Island families who need it most.  The Food Drive takes place throughout the Easter Celebration, along with live entertainment in the Coronation Pavilion. 

“This year Hawaii Food Basket is really struggling to keep up with the need,” said Debbie Parmley, Vice President of Commercial Real Estate. “We love to bring the community together at Queens’ MarketPlace for great events and entertainment — but we also want to give back, to take care of people who may not have enough to eat.”

Each child is asked to bring their own basket for the Great Waikoloa Easter Egg Hunt.  

“Wouldn’t it be awesome if every single child brought a can of food in that basket? It teaches keiki a great lesson about sharing,” Parmley said, “and that’s a wonderful way to celebrate Easter.”

9 a.m.   Registration opens for all Keiki Egg Hunts, The Studio (Register at least 1 hour before the Egg Hunt begins)  

9 a.m.-1 p.m.  Free Keiki Photos with Koloa and the Easter Bunny; Food Drive for Hawaii Food Basket
