Swords take #2 doubles 8-6
Waipahu, HI- Chaminade’s 8-1 defeat at the hands of UH Hilo may appear to be a sound loss. In
fact, the Vulcans did indeed defeat the Swords this morning at Central Oahu Regional Park,
but closer inspection tells a slightly different story and provides some positives for the
upcoming Pac West Championships. #1, #4 and #5 singles were matches that were battled
throughout, as Chaminade fell just short in these matches, either taking a set or just missing
pushing matches to three sets.
The Swords were victorious in #2 doubles with Natalie Phanphengdy and Stacey Chaussoy
winning 8-6.
In defeat, Chaminade falls to 5-8 on the year. The Swords will be at the Pac West Conference
Championships in Kona, HI and expect to be at full strength. The tournament runs from
April 9-11. Match times are yet to be determined.
