Party animals looking forward to Tropical Paws

MEDIA RELEASE

Calling all party animals! Mark the date of May 1 for the 13th Annual Hawaii Island Humane Society’s Tropical Paws at Four Seasons Resort Hualalai.

The ‘pawsitively pawsome’ gala is a benefit for the animals of the Big Island. The 6-9 p.m. event will feature exotic libations, a Four Seasons-style buffet dinner, entertainment and dancing.

The evening has sold out early the last several years so those interested in attending should plan ahead. Tickets are $100 each or $1,500 for a reserved table of 10. All tickets include a purrr-fect stimulus package; a $25 auction credit coupon.

With the assistance of Better Brands, Eos Estate Winery is this year’s wine sponsor.

Originally named for the goddess of the dawn in ancient Greek mythology, Eos Estate Winery uses state-of-the-art, eco-friendly technology to harness the sun’s energy to craft premium wines in the heart of Paso Robles wine country.

Other sponsors include the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort and Kona Brewing Company.

Since its inception Tropical Paws has raised more than $300,000 to support programs offered by the Hawaii Island Humane Society including the Second Chance Fund and the Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program.

The Second Chance Fund provides medical care and treatment for abused animals while they recuperate and become ready for adoption.

The Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program is committed to ending pet overpopulation on the Big Island.

“Our generous volunteers are optimistic that this event will surpass its goals,” HIHS Executive Director Donna Whitaker said. “We know the economy has gone to the dogs, but we also know that our island-wide community has a big heart when it comes to helping the animals.”
