Checklist of Birds in the National Parks of Hawaii is a 12-page color booklet ($2.50) with information on 158 different birds – endemic, indigenous, migratory and introduced.

Where can you spy the Hawaiian Duck?

What are the Hawaiian and Latin names for the red-tailed tropicbird?

Which species of native birds can you see at which Hawaii national parks?

Which species of beautiful endemic honeycreepers will we likely never see again because they may have recently gone extinct?

All the answers are all in Checklist of Birds in the National Parks of Hawaii. This booklet, tons of other books, DVDs and products relating to natural and cultural history are available at Hawaii’s national park visitor centers. Or, to order, visit www.hawaiinaturalhistory.org or call 985-6051.

Hawaii Natural History Association is a National Park Service cooperating association, a nonprofit organization authorized by Congress to support the interpretive, educational, scientific and historic mission of the National Park Service.

Proceeds from the sale of educational items at park visitor centers and on the Web site are returned to the Park Service to support interpretive programs, research projects, museum activities, free publications, cultural demonstrations, and other related activities.

The association also maintains a publications program, producing its own books, guides, videotapes, posters and other items.
