Jay DeMaestri has been selected to the second team of the Daktronic/NCAA Division II West Region team as selected by sports information directors at the region’s schools that sponsor men’s basketball.

 

The University of Hawaii at Hilo senior forward from Mill Valley, Calif. led the Vulcans to a 15-12 overall record and a third-place tie in the Pacific West Conference race with a 7-5 record.

He led the conference in rebounding with 9.3 per game and 3-point field goals made with 3.44 per game. He was second in scoring with 18.3 per game and third in free throw percentage at .848 (84-99) and 3-point field goal percentage at .383 (93-243).
