Auditions for ‘What the Butler Saw’ at Waimea Community Theatre

Waimea Community Theatre will hold auditions for its next production, WHAT THE BUTLER SAW by Joe Orton, On Sunday and Monday nights, March 22 & 23, at 6 PM at the WCT Lalamilo Office above Tropical Dreams Ice Cream. The play, which will be directed by John Sucke, is a fast paced, sexy, modern British farce and . The available roles are:

  • Dr. Prentice — a psychiatrist who cheats on his wife.
  • Mrs. Prentice — his wife who cheats on her husband
  • Dr. Rance — a government inspector of psychiatric clinics who is looking for a way to become famous
  • Nicolas Beckett — a blackmailing bellboy who wants a better job
  • Geraldine Barclay — an attractive young woman who is interviewing to be Dr. Prentice’s secretary
  • Sgt. Match — a police officer who becomes enmeshed in the goings-on at the Prentice Clinic

No special preparation is required to audition. You will be asked to read from the provided scripts. The rehearsal schedule will depend upon cast availability for evenings and weekends. Performance dates are May 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, & 31, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 3:00 PM. If you enjoy comedy and want to have fun, please come! Directions: Take Highway 190 to mile marker 1 and turn west on Lalamilo Road. Go about 1 block to the first building on the right. Park along the road. Go to the second floor.
