…HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR EAST FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS…

.OVERVIEW…A LONG PERIOD NORTHWEST SWELL WILL CAUSE SURF TO RISE RAPIDLY ACROSS NORTH AND MOST WEST FACING SHORES OF THE SMALLER ISLANDS BY THIS EVENING. A NORTH NORTHEAST SWELL GENERATED BY A LOW FAR NORTHEAST OF THE STATE COMBINED WITH MODERATE TRADE WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO PRODUCE ROUGH SURF ALONG EAST FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS.

…HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST WEDNESDAY…

SURF ALONG NORTH FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI AND MAUI WILL RISE TO HEIGHTS OF 14 TO 18 FEET BY THIS EVENING THEN SLOWLY FALL THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

SURF ALONG WEST FACING SHORES OF NIIHAU KAUAI OAHU AND MOLOKAI WILL RISE TO HEIGHTS OF 9 TO 12 FEET THEN SLOWLY FALL THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

SURF ALONG EAST FACING SHORES OF ALL ISLANDS WILL BE 5 TO 8 FEET THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN THE ADVISORY AREA…PRODUCING LARGE BREAKING WAVES…RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION.
