Director of group sales, executive chef named at Sheraton

Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has announced Christi Lewis has been promoted to Director of Group Sales and Eric Lelinski has been promoted to the position of Executive Chef.

“Christi and Eric both bring a wealth of experience and creativity to their positions and we welcome them aboard,” general manager Tetsuji Yamazaki said.

Lewis has been tapped to lead the resort’s group sales efforts. She spent the last six years as regional director of group sales for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Hawaii. Previously, she spent two years on the Big Island as director of group sales at a major resort property. Lewis has also held sales, marketing, catering and convention services positions elsewhere in Hawaii and at the Dana Point Resort/Marriott Laguna Cliffs in California.

Lewis, who holds a degree in hotel and marketing operations from Orange County College, is a member of Meeting Professionals International, Financial Incentive Conference Planners and Na Wahine Kui Lima, a women’s diversity council. She replaces John Dominguez who was promoted to director of sales and marketing at the Sheraton Kauai Resort.

In his new position as executive chef, Eric Lelinski heads a team of culinary professionals that prepare island-inspired meals for the resort’s Kai restaurant, Manta Ray Bar & Grill, Crystal Blue Lounge, in-room dining, banquets, and traditional and contemporary foods presented at the resort’s Monday evening luau, Firenesia.

Lelinski began his food and beverage career as a dishwasher in his home state of Pennsylvania and graduated from Culinary School in Baltimore, Maryland. He spent several months in Ireland to further his culinary skills then made his way to California where he worked in restaurants from Sacramento to San Diego including six years at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Lelinski joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 2000 and was most recently executive sous chef at the Sheraton Maui Resort.

An avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing, scuba diving and photography, Lelinski is looking forward to furthering the resort’s relationships with local growers and fishermen to bring the freshest products possible to the tables at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa.
