The National Weather Service has issued high wind advisories for the Big Island and a high wind warning for the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. West winds across the summits of the Big Island will be 40-55 mph with gusts up to 75 mph. The wind is due to a strong cold front approaching from the northwest. Small craft advisories have been posted for the waters around Hawaii due to large northwest swells.
