The Department of Public Works is working to wrap up road construction on Kealakaa Street , by Friday, Jan. 9 or at the latest Monday, Jan. 12. Construction began Thursday.

Off-duty officers are directing traffic during construction hours to Uluaoa Street. Construction hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Work originally was scheduled to last through Jan. 15. Classes resume Jan. 14 at Kealakehe Elementary School and Kealakehe Intermediate school and Jan. 12 at Hualalai Academy; all three schools lie along Kealakaa Street.
