In preparation for the 2009 state legislative session, free workshops to educate and encourage public participation in the process are planned this week on the Big Island, according to an entry on the Hawaii Senate Majority Caucus blog.

The workshops will be presented by Suzanne Marinelli, public access coordinator at the Public Access Room (PAR), a division of the state’s non-partisan Legislative Reference Bureau.

Schedule of workshops on the Big Island:

* Wednesday, Dec. 10, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m., Hilo Public Library

* Thursday, Dec. 11, 6:30 – 7:45 p.m., Keeau Public Library
