Shallenberger featured at Puako speaker series


 The Puako Marine Speaker Series presents a multi-media presentation by Dr. Robert Shallenberger “Manu Kai: Hawaiian Birds of the Sea” at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17 at Hokuloa Church in Puako.

 Shallenberger is a widely published natural history author and photographer. His photographs have appeared in dozens of books and magazines, including National Geographic, National Wildlife, Audubon, Defenders of Wildlife and Aloha.

Shallenberger’s career as a conservation biologist spans more than 40 years, including seven years as chief of the National Wildlife Refuge System. He is currently the Hawaii Island Director of The Nature Conservancy.

This presentation is free and open to the public.
