‘A Christmas Carol’ coming to Waimea

It wouldn’t be Christmas time without an appearance by ole Mr. Scrooge, and Waimea Community Theatre is there to make it happen. The added bonus is that the performances will benefit the Hawaii Island Food Basket.

The theater players will offer a staged reading of “A Christmas Carol” free to the public Dec. 13 and Dec. 14. Readers will narrate and act out one of the world’s most famous Christmas stories, featuring Scrooge, Tiny Tim, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and all of the other characters who inhabit Charles Dickens’ classic tale.

Performances are at the Parker School Theatre 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, and a matinee showing will be presented at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.

This production is suitable for all ages. Admission is free, but non-perishable food items may be donated at the door as a gift to the Hawaii Island Food Basket.
