15th Annual Charity Trees at Mauna Lani accepting entries through December 1, 2008

Visitors and Guests Vote for Favorites, Winners to Receive $6,000 in Prizes KOHALA COAST, HAWAII (October 1, 2008) – Mauna Lani Resort invites local organizations and charities to participate in the 15 th annual Charity Trees at Mauna Lani display this holiday season to raise awareness and charitable funds for non profit organizations.

Mauna Lani Resort will be accepting tree decoration and display entries from non profit and for profit organizations through December 1st. Each decorated tree will be displayed in the atrium of the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows through the holiday season. Community members, resort guests, employees, friends and family are invited to view the entries and vote for their favorite ($1 donation per vote). The Charity Trees at Mauna Lani have been the highlight of each holiday season at the resort, with more than 800 children touring the display annually.

The Charity Trees will be on public display beginning December 9th and winners will be announced December 23rd. Mauna Lani Resort will be awarding cash prizes to the organizations whose trees receive the most votes: $3,000 (1st Place), $2,000 (2nd Place) and $1,000 (3rd Place). Public donations will be split equally among all participating organizations (excluding 1st , 2nd , and 3rd place winners). All for profit organizations must designate a charity to receive their donation.
